After leaving Woebley Cross Cottage on a sunny morning we headed to Duncton, just a stone’s throw from Goodwood. Bignor Roman ruins and Arundal Castle provided some relief for Hazel, but Friday saw us heading to Goodwood.

way around the track by foot and tractor. Stopping at grandstands when the practice got a bit serious or the flying displays had us craning our necks. Because of all the walking we had only got partially dressed up, tomorrow will be the full monty. One feature this year is the Lavant Cup which features 18 Jaguar D types and 2 Jaguar XKSS, which were based on the D type. The Earls Court Motor Show provided cars from the past as well as current models, presented as concept vehicles. Star of the show was one of the new Lightweight E types being made by Jaguar. The hundreds of stands provided lots of temptation, some factory Aston Martin merchandise will be heading back to Tassie. You could spend hours in the car parks alone, there must have been over 2000 Jags in one ! The Bugatti and Bentley sum up Goodwood, both had been driven hard, oil stains everywhere and just left whilst their owners enjoyed this unique event. More tomorrow….
