With the rain coming down we decided to forgo T42’s first run under my helm and instead get some more shopping. Off to BROOKLANDS shopping center, which has parts of the old racing circuit embankment around it. However most of the action centered on a 2 lane roundabout system within the car park ! We failed to get a top 10 placing…..Wandering around we managed to find 50% of what we needed, including a local SIM card for a spare iphone.

Plan A was to install the card, 2 hours later we have given up and will buy a local phone outright !

Plan B  was to crack open the bottle of champagne supplied by the ever helpful Peter, T42 was duly re christened and we shall try a run tomorrow. CHEERS Mark and Hazel 

 

 

 

 

 

After 33 hours travelling we have made it to Pyrford Marina and T42. A quick dash to Waitrose at Byfleet for cleaning materials and Melton Mowbray pork pies. At 26′ long it didn’t take us long to scrub the interior and fill up all the nooks and crannies with our gear. We both collapsed into bunks and finally got some sleep.

Today is a steep learning curve with the previous owner getting to know all the ins and outs. With brain fade now starting again we are off to Wisley Gardens for lunch and some coffee mugs ! If I get brave and the weather holds up we’ll venture out onto the canal this afternoon sometime, stay posted for more pics…
